Space closure and improved upper incisor display with Invisalign

Did you know that in addition to closing spaces and straightening crooked teeth, orthodontic treatment can also increase the amount of teeth showing in your smile.

By increasing the amount of the upper incisors (front teeth) that are visible in one’s smile, it can create a fuller and more youthful smile aesthetic.

In this particular case, the patient started with spaced out flared upper incisors with only 50% upper incisor display. After one year in Invisalign treatment, this patient’s teeth were retracted to close all spaces while simultaneously increasing the amount of upper incisor display. Notice how in the after picture, the patient’s smile is fuller with 100% upper incisor display. Beautiful!
